【Three Others Aim to Start Gas-Pipeline Construction by 2015 】

Date 2014-11-28

[Dow Jones] India, Pakistan, Turkmenistan and Afghanistan are planning to start construction of a 1,130-mile natural-gas pipeline linking the four countries by next year, the Indian government said via a statement. India's petroleum and natural gas minister, Dharmendra Pradhan, attended the meeting of the panel set up to oversee the pipeline project Thursday. "(We) made progress towards realization of the TAPI gas pipeline project," the statement added. The panel will next meet in Islamabad, Pakistan, in February 2015. "It was also agreed that remaining issues will be addressed before the meeting. All sides agreed that steps will be taken to start the project by 2015," it added. Turkmenistan has the world's fourth-largest proven reserves of natural gas.
