Hilong Marine Engineering Awarded Major Marine Transportation and Installation Contract from CUEL LIMITED

Date 2017-05-15

(May 15, 2017, Shanghai) Recently, Hilong Marine Engineering (Hong Kong) Limited (“Hilong Marine Engineering”) was awarded an offshore transportation and installation subcontract from CUEL LIMITED (“CUEL”), valued at over USD 25 million.

This contract is part of the Phase IV Development Project of Block B-17-01. Located in the Malay Basin at the northern tip of the Gulf of Thailand, the project falls under the Thailand-Malaysia joint development area. This contract includes offshore transportation and installation services for three wellhead platforms, underwater pipelines, and offshore pipeline connections, and the total construction period will last from mid December 2017 to March 2018.

“Hilong Marine Engineering is committed to creating a comprehensive services platform to provide complete offshore design, procurement, construction, installation, and management services for customers as a general contractor,” noted Xiao Long, Vice President of Hilong Group and General Manager of Hilong Marine Engineering, adding that “this contract once again proves that Hilong Marine Engineering has made yet another solid step forward in its internationalization strategy, laying a solid foundation for the company to open up the international market.”

CUEL, as a general contractor for Carigali-PTTEPI Operating Company Sdn Bhd (CPOC), signed this contract with Hilong Marine Engineering. Founded in Thailand in 2000, CUEL is a general contractor dedicated to providing design and construction services for international oil and gas companies.

CPOC is a joint venture between Petronas Carigali JDA Ltd of Malaysia (50%) and Petroleum Authority of Thailand (PTT) (50%). According to the Production Sharing Contract signed between Petronas Carigali JDA Ltd and PTT on April 21, 1994, CPOC serves as the operator of petroleum exploration and exploitation in blocks B-17 and C-19 of the Malaysia-Thailand joint area.
